Okay food, way too expensive. And who ever heard of a Muffaletta salad without OLIVES?!

This location has a student menu, and that's cool. Everything on it comes with fries and a drink! The staff was nice, and my food was decent. The fried pickles were incredibly salty...

I used to work at this place the summer between by senior year of high school and freshman year of college. And I got to see all of the great workings that go on behind the scenes of food preparation and you know what? I would still eat at this place. Everything is good! The burgers, sandwiches, salads and appetizers are all huge and filling. But my favorite has always been the grilled chicken croissant with a side of honey mustard. It rocks the house and usually my hunger pains. Great place for lunch and or dinner. Be careful though because the place can get packed at the usually meal times.

"LSU neighborhood bar and grill". This was my first time at a Brew-Bacher's. I have seen them scattered around Baton Rouge and have never really had the desire to check one out, especially after reading the reviews. Well, this past Saturday, I was hungry and were in a pretty desperate situation. I wanted something with protein, whether it was a bun-less burger or a chicken salad, so we stopped here. This was a restaurant in desperate need of a major touch-up. The lady at my counter, who took my order was very pleasant and even repeated our order. Unfortunately, there a couple mistakes with the order, but I was not going to hold that against them. We ordered a lot: chicken salad, cheeseburger, chicken croissant sandwich, chicken fingers and a BLT. I have to say, my favorite entree was the chicken fingers; they were well-seasoned and quite large! Everything else was just okay. I cannot say I will be back all that often.

No. Just no. My chicken drusilla was chewy. I could barely cut it. It was so tough. And then midway through my meal I saw a hair that was not my hair in my plate. I will not be back.

Not impressed, and I've been here several times, and I've NEVER been impressed. I try different things, hoping I'll like SOMETHING, and I haven't. I had a bacon cheeseburger "student special" with a very dry and overcooked burger, and it had only two waaaaayyyy overcooked pieces of bacon, and slightly-warm fries. I ate barely half the burger because it was so dry I couldn't swallow it! I guess I will give up on Brewbacher's. It would be nice to have a good restaurant close to home, but I can't justify coming here when the only good thing I've tried there is the raspberry tea.

We waited 23 minutes for a hamburger and shrimp PO-boy. The hamburger was dry and over cooked and the "po-boy" was about 7" long and had about 8 shrimp on it. The po-boy was surprisingly good but a much smaller portion than I would have expected. Usually you have shrimp left on the plate when you're done with the sandwich. The fries that came with the burger weren't bad but they tasted like they had been fried in oil that was a bit burnt and probably the same oil the shrimp had been fried in.

I have ambivalent feelings when it comes to Brewbacher's. The food is mediocre. So is the service. But it smells so so good. If you go to Brewbacher's know that the smells can be deceiving. I rarely visit the place now, but back when my friends were crazy about it, I grew sick of it quickly.

I always thought this was a little pricey to come here regularly, but hey, I was a college student with barely two nickels to rub together. Today, I'd love to live close to a place like this... good, simple food and lots of cold beer. Ah, wait, I do live close to several places like this... but no doubt about it, Brew Bachers is a solid option if you're in the area. It's very casual, come as you are, and the service is good.
